ಮೃಗಶೇಷವಿರುವನಕ ಜಗಳ ತಪ್ಪದು ಜಗದಿ ।
ಹಗೆಗೆ ಕೊಲದವರು ಹಸಿವಿಂದ ಕೊಂದಾರು ॥
ಟಗರು ಜೂಜೋ ಸಭೆಯ ರಗಳೆಯೋ ಕುಸ್ತಿಯೋ ।
ಸೊಗ ಜನಕೆ ರಣರಂಗ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೯ ॥

ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃಗಾಂಶದ ಶೇಷವಿರುವತನಕ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳ ತಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಹಸಿವಿನಿಂದ ಕೊಂದಾರು. ಇವರಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಜಗಳ ಅಥವಾ ಕಲಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ. ತಾವು ಜಗಳವಾಡದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅದು ಟಗರುಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಜೂಜಾಗಲೀ, ಒಂದು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ರಗಳೆಯ ಜಗಳವಾಗಲೀ ಅಥವಾ ಅಖಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲ್ಲರ ನಡುವೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ಕುಸ್ತಿಯ ಪಂದ್ಯವಾಗಲೀ, ಅನ್ಯರು ಆಡುವ ಜಗಳವನ್ನಾದರೂ ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತಸಪಡುವ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನದು, ಎಂದು ಮಾನವರಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೃಗತ್ವದ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ತನ್ನ ಮನೋರಥಂಗಳ ಚಕ್ರವೇಗದಿನೆ ।
ತನ್ನ ಮಣಿಹಾರಗಳ ಸಿಕ್ಕು ಬಿಗಿತದಿನೇ ॥
ತನ್ನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ವಿಪರೀತದಿನೆ ಮಾನವನ ।
ಬೆನ್ನು ಮುರಿದೀತೇನೊ! - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೮೦ ॥

ಸಾಧ್ಯಾಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳ ವಿವೇಚನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅತಿವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು, ಅತೀ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಇಚ್ಚೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ಹಾರಗಳಂತೆ ತೊಟ್ಟು, ನಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಷಮತೆಗೂ ಮೀರಿದ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಪರೀತವಾದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಡುವ ನಾವು, ಆ ವಿಪರೀತ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದಲೇ ಪತನವಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ, ಎನ್ನುವ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

"Man is running fast in the cycle of desire-satisfaction-more-desires. During this, he may wear a necklace of pearls. While running fast, it may get entangled and suffocate him. His back may get broken under the weight of all the grand endeavors to satisfy his lofty ambitions." - Mankutimma

ಮಿತಿಯನರಿತಾಶೆ, ಸಮುಚಿತವ ಮರೆಯದ ಯತ್ನ ।
ತೈತಿಕ್ಷೆ ಕಷ್ಟಾಂಶದಪರಿಹಾರ್ಯತೆಗೆ ॥
ಮೃತಿಯೆ ಜೀವನಕಥೆಯ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲವೆಂಬರಿವು ।
ಹಿತಗಳಿವು ನರಕುಲಕೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೮೧ ॥

ನಮ್ಮ ಮಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಆಸೆಪಡುವುದು, ಸೂಕ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಯದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ, ಕಷ್ಟಗಳು ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ತಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ, ಮರಣವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಕಥೆಗೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಅರಿವು ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಅಂತಹ ಅರಿವು ಮಾನವ ಕುಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿತವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಸರ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತೆಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಕುಲ ವರ್ಗ ।
ಸರ್ವದಣು ತಾನೆನುತ್ತೋರೊರ್ವ ಮನುಜನ್ ॥
ಸರ್ವಜೀವ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಗನುಗೂಡಿ ದುಡಿಯುತಿರೆ ।
ಪರ್ವವಂದಿಳೆಗೆಲವೊ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೮೨ ॥

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ, ಕುಲ,ವರ್ಗ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳು, ಮಾನವರು ಸಹಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಇವೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ, ತಾನು ಸರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಅಣು’ಮಾತ್ರ ಎಂದು ಬಗೆದು, ಸರ್ವರ ಜೀವನದ ಸಂವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೃಷಿಮಾಡಿದ ದಿನ, ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ‘ಪರ್ವ’ದಿನ ಅಥವಾ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ದಿನ, ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಕಾಯಕಿಂತಾತ್ಮ ಪಿರಿತೆಂದು ಜನವರಿತಂದು ।
ಸ್ವೀಯೇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಕೆಡದಂದು ॥
ದಾಯ ಸಮ ಸಂಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಭೂಭಾಗ್ಯವಾದಂದು ।
ಶ್ರೇಯ ನೆರೆವುದು ಜಗಕೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೮೩ ॥

"There will be prosperity in abundance in this world when people realize that the soul is to be cared for more than the body, when people find peace within themselves and find ways to do so by themselves, when people learn to share with others equally what they have." - Mankutimma
