ಮಡಕೆಯನು ಬಡಿದು ಹೊನ್ ಕೊಡವ ತೋರುವ ಸಖನೆ ।
ಪಡೆದಿಹೆಯ ರಹದಾರಿಯನು ಹೊನ್ನ ಗಣಿಗೆ? ॥
ಒಡಲಿಗೊಗ್ಗಿದ ನೀರ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದೊಡದೇಂ ಪಾಲ ।
ಕುಡಿವ ಸಂತಸಕೆಣೆಯೆ? - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೪ ॥
ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿ,’ ಓ!! ನಿನಗೆ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಮಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆ ‘ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಗಣಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಇದೆಯೇನು? ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಒಗ್ಗಿದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಲನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿವ ಸಂತಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು ಸಮವೇನು? ಎಂದು ಸಂತಸದ ಮತ್ತು ತೃಪ್ತಿಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪದ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು.

ಬಲುಹಳೆಯ ಲೋಕವಿದು, ಬಲುಪುರಾತನಲೋಕ ।
ಬೆಳೆದಿರ್ಪುದಿದು ಕೋಟಿರಸಗಳನು ಪೀರ್ದು ॥
ಸುಲಭವಲ್ಲದರ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸೆ ।
ಸಲದಾತುರೆಯದಕೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೫ ॥
ಈ ಲೋಕ ಬಹಳ ಹಳೆಯದು, ಪುರಾತನವಾದದ್ದು. ಇದು ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೆ ಕೋಟಿ ಕೋಟಿ ರಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹೀರಿಕೊಂಡು ಬದಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು, ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಸಿಂಧುವನು ಹಿಮಗಿರಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬೇರೊಂದು ।
ಚೆಂದದಲಿ ಪರಿದು ಬಾರೆಂದಾಣತಿಪೆಯಾ? ॥
ಸಂದರ್ಭವಿಡಿದು ಜನಚೈತನ್ಯ ಪರಿದಿಹುದು ।
ಅಂಧಗತಿಯಲ್ಲವದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೬ ॥
ಹಿಮಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಹರಿದು ಬರುವ ಸಿಂಧೂ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ‘ಹಿಮಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬೇರೆಯ ರೀತಿಯ ವೈಯ್ಯಾರದಿಂದ ಹರಿದು ಬಾ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯೇ? ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲ್ಮೈ, ಇಳಿಜಾರು ಹೇಗಿದೆಯೋ ಅದರಂತೆ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಹರಿದು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ,ಸಿಂಧು. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ ಕಾಲವನ್ನುಸರಿಸಿ ಸಂಧರ್ಭಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಜನರ ಜೀವನದ ಗತಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜನ ಜೀವನದ ಗತಿ ಕುರುಡುಗತಿ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಎಂದು ಬದುಕು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಉಪಮೆಯ ಸಹಿತ ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಮತಿವಂತರಿದ್ದರಲ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದೆಯುಮಿಲ್ಲಿ ।
ಹಿತಚಿಂತಕರು ಜನಕೆ, ಕೃತಪರಿಶ್ರಮರು? ॥
ಅತಿವೈದ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊಸರುಜಿನಕೆಡೆಯಾದೀತೊ ।
ಮಿತಿಯಿಂ ನವೀಕರಣ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೭ ॥
ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗಿಂತ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರು ಇದ್ದರಲ್ಲವೇ? ಸರ್ವ ಜನರ ಹಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡುವವರು ಇದ್ದರಲ್ಲವೇ? ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಒಳಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಡಿದವರು ಇದ್ದರಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅತಿಯಾದ ವೈದ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊಸರೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಎಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆ, ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ, ತೀವ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಬದಲಿಸಿದೆ, ಮಿತಿಯಿಂದ ನವೀನತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು, ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಸೂಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಸಡಲಿಸುವ ನೀಂ ಮರಳಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲರಿತವನೇಂ? ॥
ಗಿಡವ ಸರಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಿಸಲು ಬುಡವ ಕೀಳ್ವುದು ಸರಿಯೆ? ।
ದುಡುಕದಿರು ತಿದ್ದಿಕೆಗೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೮೭೮ ॥
ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸುವ ಭರಾಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಅಡಿಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಅಲುಗಾಡಿಸಬೇಡ.ನಿನಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆಯೇನು? ಒಂದು ಗಿಡವ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಅದರ ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಕೀಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯೇ? ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ತಿದ್ದಲು ಆತುರಪಡಬೇಡ ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಹಿತವಚನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
