ಒಂದುದಿನವೌತಣಕೆ, ಉಪವಾಸಕಿನ್ನೊಂದು ।
ಸಂದಣಿಯದಿನವೊಂದು, ಬಿಡುವು ದಿನವೊಂದು ॥
ಹೊಂದಿರ್ದೊಡುಭಯಮುಂ ಜೀವಕದು ಸುಖ ಚಲನ ।
ಒಂದುಕಾಲ್ನಡೆ ಸುಖವೆ? - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೬೯ ॥
ಒಂದೇ ಕಾಲಿನ ನಡಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸುಖವಲ್ಲವೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವುದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಿನ ಉಪವಾಸದ ವ್ರತವನ್ನನುಸರಿಸುವುದು, ಒಂದು ದಿನಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಿನ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಬಿಡುವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಹೀಗೆ ಎರಡೂ ರೀತಿಯ ಅನುಭವಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚೈತನ್ಯವಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ಬಗೆಯನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಅರುಹಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
One day we feast. We stay hungry as a ritual on some other day. One day will be very busy. Another day will be for rest. When the two are well interspersed, life will be happy. If there are days of only one kind, then life becomes tough - like walking on one leg. - Mankutimma

ನೇತ್ರಯುಗಳಂ ಪಿಡಿಗುಮೊಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವ ಕೂಡಿ ।
ಹಸ್ತಯುಗ ಸಾಧಿಪುದು ಮನದರ್ಥವೊಂದನ್ ॥
ದ್ವೈತದಿಂದದ್ವೈತವದ್ವೈತದೊಳ್ ದ್ವೈತ ।
ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಲೀಲೆಯಿದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೭೦ ॥
‘ಎರಡು’ ಕಣ್ಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಹಿಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದು ‘ಒಂದು’ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ. ಆ ‘ಒಂದು’ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಎರಡು’ ಕೈಗಳ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ಆ ‘ಎರಡು’ ಕೈಗಳ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದು ಮನದ ‘ಒಂದು’ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು. ಹೀಗೆ ದ್ವೈತದಿಂದ ಅದ್ವೈತ ಮತ್ತು ಅದ್ವೈತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದ್ವೈತದ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವು ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನ ಲೀಲಾವಿನೋದವಷ್ಟೇ, ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಹಲವಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹಲವು ಒಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿದೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
The two eyes set you a single target and the two hands help you to achieve a single goal that the mind sets. There is unity through duality and duality inside unity. This is the mark of the Cosmic Spirit of God. - Mankutimma

ನೀರಧಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ನೀರ್ಗಲ್ ಜೀವವೆನುತೊಂದು ।
ಕ್ಷೀರವದು, ಘೃತವಿದದರೊಳಗೆನ್ನುತೊಂದು ॥
ಕೀರು ಪರಮಾನ್ನವದು, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯಿದೆನುತ್ತೊಂದು ।
ಮೂರಿಂತು ಮತವಿವರ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೭೧ ॥
ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಕಡಲಂತೆ, ಜೀವ ಕಡಲ ಮೇಲೆ ತೇಲುವ ಮಂಜಗಡ್ಡೆಯಂತೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಒಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ, ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ ಹಾಲು ಆ ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ತುಪ್ಪವೇ ಜೀವ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ , ಆ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ ಪಾಯಸ ಪರಮಾನ್ನವಿದ್ದಹಾಗೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಲಾಡುವ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯೇ ಜೀವ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಹೀಗೆ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವಾತ್ಮರ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಕುರಿತು ಮೂರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
This is the summary of the three prevalent treatises about the universe. One says God is like an ocean and beings are like an iceberg - made of the same material but visibly different and supported by God. Second one says that God is like milk and beings are like ghee - the two are indistinguishable till one makes an effort to churn it. The third one says, good is kheer (a sweet dish) and beings are like raisins in it. Beings are just a item in the recipe and clearly distinguishable from the complete product (Kheer). - Mankutimma

ಮೂರಿರಲಿ ವಾದ, ಮುನ್ನೂರಿರಲಿ; ಸಕಲರುಂ ।
ಸಾರವಸ್ತುವನೊಂದನೊಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳುವವರೇ ॥
ಪಾರಮಾರ್ಥಿಕವನಂತೆಣಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ।
ಭಾರವಾಗದು ಜಗಕೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೭೨ ॥
ಹಿಂದಿನ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಪರಮಾರ್ಥದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಮೂರಿರಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಮುನ್ನೂರಿರಲಿ, ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆ ಪರಮಾರ್ಥದ ಮೂಲವಸ್ತುವು ಒಂದೇ ಎಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಯಾವ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಸರಿ, ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದೇ ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವ್ಯವಹರಿಸಿದರೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಬದುಕು ಹಗುರವೆಂದೆನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
Let there by three treatises or there hundred. All of them agree that there is one thing - God like - that supports the entire creation of this universe. What ever treatise that looks at the truth this way can not be harmful to the world. - Mankutimma

ಹೊರಗೆ ಲೋಕಾಸಕ್ತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸಕಲ ವಿರಕ್ತಿ ।
ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಧ್ಯಾನವೊಳಗುದಾಸೀನ ॥
ಹೊರಗೆ ಸಂಸೃತಿಭಾರವೊಳಗದರ ತಾತ್ಸಾರ ।
ವರಯೋಗಮಾರ್ಗವಿದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೭೩ ॥
ಹೊರಗೆ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲೂ ವಿರಕ್ತಿ. ಹೊರಗೆ ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಕಾರ್ಯ ತತ್ಪರತೆ ಆದರೆ ಯಾವುದರಲ್ಲೂ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಉದಾಸೀನ. ಹೊರಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಭಾರ, ಒಳಗೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತಾತ್ಸಾರ, ಈ ರೀತಿಯಿರುವುದು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತಮ ಯೋಗಮಾರ್ಗವೆಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
This is a very good plan to live happily. On the outside we must engage in every worldly activity that we deem fit. Inside, we should be detached to it. On the outside we must give hundred percent to the work at hand. Inside, we must not care too much about its result. On the outside we must take part in the every-day progress of the world - birth, suffering, happiness and death. Inside, we should not care about it. - Mankutimma
