ಹೃದಯಪುಷ್ಪಮರಂದವಾತ್ಮಕೆ ನಿಜಾನಂದ ।
ಉದಿಪುದಾ ರಸ ಸುಂದರದ ಕಿರಣ ಸೋಕೆ ॥
ಬದುಕಿನೊಳ್ ಕವಿತೆಯೊಳ್ ಕಲೆಗಳೊಳ್ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯೊಳ್ ।
ಪುದಿದಿರ್ಪ ಕಾಂತಿಯದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೫೯ ॥
ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಕಿರಣ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೋಕಿದೊಡನೆ ತತ್ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ‘ರಸ’ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಕ್ಕಿ ಹೃದಯದ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಆತ್ಮವು ನಿಜಾನಂದವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು. ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಕವಿತೆ, ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ಅನಂದವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಕಾಂತಿ ಅಡಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಜಾನಂದಾನುಭೂತಿಯ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಅರುಹಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
The heart has the nectar which makes the soul truly happy. When the eyes see a beautiful scene, it fills the heart with that beauty (and satisfaction). That brilliance is present in life, in poetry, in fine arts and nature. - Mankutimma

ಜಗದ ಬಂದೀಗೃಹದಿ ಬಿಗಿಯುತಿರೆ ವಿಧಿ ನಿನ್ನ ।
ನಿಗಮ ಸತ್ಕಲೆ ಕಾವ್ಯಗಳ ಗವಾಕ್ಷಗಳಿಂ ॥
ಗಗನದೊಳನಂತದರ್ಶನದೆ ಮುಕ್ತಿಯನೊಂದು ।
ನಗುನಗಿಸಿ ಲೋಕವನು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೬೦ ॥
ವಿಧಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಬಂದೀಖಾನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆರೆಯಾಳಾಗಿಸಿರುವಾಗ,ಬಂದೀಖಾನೆಯ ಸೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳಿಂದ ಆಕಾಶದ ಅನಂತ ದರ್ಶನದಿಂದ, ವೇದ, ಕಲೆ ಕಾವ್ಯಗಳಂತಹ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತು, ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಂದವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ನಕ್ಕು ನಲಿದು, ಪರರನ್ನೂ ನಗಿಸಿ, ಮುಕ್ತಿಯನು ಹೊಂದು ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು, ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
Providence locks you up in the prison of this world. There are windows that let you see outside – scriptures, fine arts and literature. Look through those windows towards the sky experience the infinite. That is the way to liberate yourself. While doing so, you should make sure you make the rest of the world happy also. - Mankutimma

ರಾಮನುಂ ಭರತನುಂ ತಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡತ್ತಂದು ।
ಪ್ರೇಮಾಶ್ರುವುಕ್ಕಿ ನದಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿದಂದು ॥
ಸೀಮೆಯಂ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತಲ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ।
ಕ್ಷೇಮವದು ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೬೧ ॥
ರಾಮನು ಭರತನನ್ನು ಗಾಢವಾಗಿ ತಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ತ ದಿನ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರೇಮಾಶ್ರುವು ಉಕ್ಕಿ ನದಿಯಾಗಿ ಹರಿದು ಭಾವ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಗರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಂತೆ, ಪ್ರತೀ ಜೀವಿಯೂ ಭಾವ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರೆದರೆ ಅದು ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿತ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
When Rama and Bharatha met and hugged each other, tears of love rolled like a torrent. Such was their emotions which crossed all limits of love and beauty. Once in a while letting our emotions flow like this is good for life. – Mankutimma [Translator's note: Bharatha loved his brother Rama very much and still cited as exemplary example of brotherly love. Due to certain circumstances, Rama had to go on exile. Bharatha visited Rama twice during the exile (Panchavati and Nandigrama) and both times the meeting is described in Ramayana to be very emotional]

ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರರೀತಿಯಂ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ।
ನೀತಿಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮದ ಗಹನಮಾರ್ಗಮಂ ವ್ಯಾಸರ್ ॥
ಗೀತೆಯಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವಜೀವನರಹಸ್ಯವನವರ್ ।
ಖ್ಯಾತಿಸಿಹರದು ಕಾವ್ಯ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೬೨ ॥
ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಯು ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನೂ, ವ್ಯಾಸ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಯು ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮದ ಉನ್ನತ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಭಗವಾನ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ‘ಭಗವದ್ಗೀತೆ’ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕಿನ ರಹಸ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ‘ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನ’ದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾವ್ಯರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
Valmiki has painted a very beautiful picture depicting magnanimity of love in Ramayana. In Mahabharata, Vyasa has shown us the intricate subtleties of various hues of morality. In the Bhagavadgita, he has revealed the secret of life in this world. That is the reason why these poems are famous. - Mankutimma

ಹೃದಯಕೊಪ್ಪುವ ಭಾಷೆ ರಾಗಲಯ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ ।
ಪದ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮಿತವಿಚಾರಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಭಾಷೆ ॥
ಹೃದಯಮತಿ ಸತಿಪತಿಗಳಂತಿರಲು ಯುಕ್ತವದು ।
ಬದುಕು ರಸತರ್ಕೈಕ್ಯ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೬೩ ॥
ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮುದನೀಡುವುದು ಸಂಗೀತ, ಕಲೆ, ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಮುಂತಾದವು ಅಗತ್ಯ . ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲು ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ವಾಗ್ಜರಿ ಬೇಕು. ಹೃದಯ ಮತ್ತು ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಎರಡೂ ಗಂಡ-ಹೆಂಡಿರಂತಿರಲು ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಸಾನುಭವ ಮತ್ತು ತರ್ಕದ ಐಕ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡರೆ ಬದುಕು ಸುಂದರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
The language that the heart understands is that of emotions. Discussions and words are good for conveying ideas or arguments. It is apt that the heart and mind must be like husband and wife. Life is happy when emotions and logic are both in present in right proportions. - Mankutimma
