ಸುಂದರತೆಯೆನುವುದೇಂ? ಜನಕೆ ಮೈಮರೆಯಿಪಾ- ।
ನಂದದೊಳಮರುಮವೇಂ? ವಿಶ್ವಚೇತನದಾ ॥
ಸ್ಪಂದನವೆ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಮದುವೆ ಜೀವನಮೂಲ ।
ಬಂಧುರತೆ ಬೊಮ್ಮನದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೪೬ ॥
" ಸುಂದರತೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು? ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯು ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಮೈ ಮರೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಆ ಒಳಗುಟ್ಟು ಏನು?" ಎಂದರೆ ಪರಮ ಚೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಪ್ರತಿಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಈ ಸುಂದರತೆ. ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಈ ಜಗಜ್ಜೀವಜಾಲದ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಈ ಸುಂದರತೆಯೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.

ದೃಷ್ಟಿಚುಕ್ಕೆಯದೊಂದನೆಲ್ಲ ಚೆಂದಂಗಳ್ಗ- ।
ಮಿಟ್ಟಿಹನು ಪರಮೇಷ್ಠಿ, ಶಶಿಗೆ ಮಶಿಯವೊಲು ॥
ಗುಟ್ಟೇನೊ? ರಕ್ಷೆಯೋ? ಸಿಂಗರವೊ? ಹೇಳನವೊ? ।
ಮಷ್ಟು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬೊಟ್ಟು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೪೭ ॥
ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ, ತನ್ನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಚೆಂದಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಚುಕ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿದಾನೆ, ಚಂದ್ರನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲೆಗಳಂತೆ. ಇದರ ಗುಟ್ಟು ಏನಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ಹಾಗೆ ಕಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ‘ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಸಿಂಗಾರಕ್ಕೊ,ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೋ, ಅಥವಾ ಹಳಿಯಲೋ,’ ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಏನಾದರಾಗಲಿ ಕೊಳೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಬೊಟ್ಟು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ನಮಗೆ ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
God has kept one black-dot in all beautiful things. Just like the black-dot on the moon. Is it a secret plan? Is it for protection? Is it for decoration? Is it just for fun? There is also ugliness in nature serving as a black-dot in an otherwise beautiful creation. - Mankutimma [Translator's note: In Indian households, a black-dot is kept on the face of little kids after decorating so that it can absorb all the ill-effects of being the source of all jealousy. ಬಿಂದು ವಿಸರಗಳನುವು, ವಂಕು ಸರಲಗಳನುವು ।
ಚೆಂದ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ವರ್ಣವಿವಿಧಂಗಳನುವು ॥
ಚೆಂದ ವೇಗ ಸ್ತಿಮಿತದನುವು, ಹುಳಿಯುಪ್ಪನುವು ।
ದ್ವಂದ್ವದನುವುಗಳಂದೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೪೮ ॥
ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ದ್ವಂದ್ವಗಳು ಜೊತೆಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಒಂದು ಚುಕ್ಕೆಯ ಸುತ್ತ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ, ಅಂಕುಡೊಂಕುಗಳೊಡನೆ ನೇರಗಳು, ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಲವಾರಾದರೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಚೆಂದವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಬಣ್ಣಗಳು, ಕೆಲವು ಸ್ಥಾಯೀಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು, ಹೀಗೆ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಕ್ಕ ಪಕ್ಕಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವ ಈ ದ್ವಂದ್ವಗಳ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
