ಪ್ರಾರಾಬ್ಧದಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪುಣ್ಯವೆನಿತಾನುಮಿರೆ ।
ಸೇರೆ ಪಶ್ಚಾತಾಪ ಭಾರವದರೊಡನೆ ॥
ದಾರುಣದ ಕರ್ಮನಿಯತಿಯನಿನಿತು ಶಿಥಿಲಿಪುದು ।
ಕಾರುಣ್ಯದಿಂ ದೈವ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೦೯ ॥
ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಘೋರವಾದ ಕರ್ಮಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಲೇ ಬೇಕಾದಾಗ, ಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂಚಿತ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದರೂ ಪುಣ್ಯವು ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಅದರೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ತಪ್ಪಿನ ಅರಿವಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪವೂ ಸೇರಿದರೆ, ದೈವದ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳ ತೀವ್ರತೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದರೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
If you have carried over punya (Good Karma) from previous births and you add to that by behaving well and feeling true remorse for all bad deeds, then God will fell compassionate and will soften the punishment that has to be meted out (as per law) in your afterlife. - Mankutimma

ನಿನ್ನೇಳುಬೀಳುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೊಗ ಗೋಳುಗಳು ।
ನಿನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನೋಸುಗವೆ ನೆಡೆವ ಯೋಜನೆಯೇಂ? ॥
ಇನ್ನದೆನಿಬರ ಜೀವಪಾಕವದರಿಂದಹುದೊ! ।
ಛಿನ್ನವಾ ಋಣಮಾರ್ಗ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೧೦ ॥
ನಿನ್ನ ಬದುಕಿನ ಏರಿಳಿತಗಳು, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ದುಃಖಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ನಡೆದ ಒಂದು ಯೋಜನೆಯೆಂದು ನೀನಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ. ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವನ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರಣಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಋಣ ಬಂದಿದೆ,ಎಷ್ಟು ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ನಮಗರಿವಾಗದ ರಹಸ್ಯ, ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಗೂಢವಾದ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು.

ನರಕ ತಪ್ಪಿತು ಧರ್ಮಜಂಗೆ, ದಿಟ, ಆದೊಡೇಂ? ।
ನರಕದರ್ಶನದುಃಖ ತಪ್ಪದಾಯಿತಲ? ॥
ದುರಿತತರುವಾರು ನೆಟ್ಟುದೊ, ನಿನಗಮುಂಟು ಫಲ ।
ಚಿರಋಣದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೧೧ ॥
ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಅನುಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ " ಹತೋsಶ್ವತ್ತಾಮೋ ನಾಮ ಕುಂಜರಃ" ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ ‘ನಾಮ ಕುಂಜರಃ’ ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಸದಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿ, ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದಅಶ್ವತ್ತಾಮನೇಸತ್ತನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೌರವರ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ‘ದ್ರೋಣ’ ನ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ತಂತ್ರದಿಂದ ಕಾರಣನಾದ ಧರ್ಮರಾಯನಿಗೆ ನರಕವಾಸ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೂ, ಈ ಒಂದು ಪಾಪದಿಂದನರಕ ದರ್ಶನವಾಯಿತಲ್ಲ!! ‘ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮಾತು ಧರ್ಮಜನಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ’ ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕುಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಯಾರೋ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೋ ಬಲಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ನಮಗರ್ಥವಾಗದ ‘ಋಣ’ ದ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
It is true that Yudhistira was not put into hell in his afterlife. He did every thing according to dharma in his life. Yet he was not spared from teh ordeal of having to see hell on the way to heaven. This was done because of his involvement in the slaying of Drona during the Kurukhsetra war. Although, the plot was not his own, he had to bear the punishment. It does not matter who plants the seed of sin, if you get involved, then you will have to eat the fruit. That is the calculation of debt of karma. - Mankutimma

ಆವ ಋಣಕೋಸುಗವೊ, ಆರ ಹಿತಕೋಸುಗವೊ ।
ಆವಾವ ಕಾರಣಕೊ, ಆವ ಯೋಜನೆಗೋ ॥
ನೋವ ನೀಂ ಪಡುವುದೇ ದೈವೇಚ್ಛೆಯಾಗಿರದೆ? ।
ದೈವ ಕುರುಡೆನ್ನದಿರು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೧೨ ॥
ಯಾವ ಋಣ ತೀರಿಸಲೋ ಅಥವಾ ಯಾರ ಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೋ ಅಥವಾ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೋ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೋ ಅಥವಾ ನಮಗರಿಯದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಯಾವ ಯೋಜನೆಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿಯೋ ನೀನು ನೋವನುಭವಿಸುವುದೇ ದೈವೇಚ್ಛೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ದೈವವನ್ನು ಕುರುಡು ಎನ್ನಬೇಡ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದು ಕೇವಲ ದೈವ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನಲ್ಲ ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಲೂ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ಮಫಲಗಳ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
No one can explain the reasons behind the actions of Fate. It could be due to consequence of some of your action, or as preparation for someone's comfort, or some other reason or part of bigger plan. If such actions (will of the providence) require you to go through pain; simply endure it and don't call out God to be blind. - Mankutimma [Translator's note: ತೇನವಿನಾ ತೃಣಮಪಿ ನ ಚಲತೆ । Without His will, even a blade of grass will move. Just because we can not connect the dots, we should not blame God to be unfair and blind towards our suffering. At the very least, it will be part of a bigger plan.]

ಆವುದರಿನಾವಾಗ ದೈವ ತಾನೊಲಿದೀತೊ? ।
ಪೂರ್ವಿಕದ ನಿಯತಿಯನದೆಂದು ಸಡಲಿಪುದೋ? ॥
ಭಾವಿಸುಕೃತವದೆಂದು ಪೂರ್ವದುರಿತಕೆ ಮಿಗಿಲೊ? ।
ದೈವಿಕರಹಸ್ಯವದು- ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೧೩ ॥
ನಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಆ ದೈವ ನಮಗೆ ಒಲಿದೀತು? ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಪಡೆದುಬಂದ ಕರ್ಮ ಶೇಷವನ್ನು ಎಂದು ಸಡಿಲಿಸೀತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪುಣ್ಯವು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗುವುದೋ ಯಾವುದೂ ನಮಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದೊಂದು ದೈವೀಕ ರಹಸ್ಯವೆಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
It can not be said with certainty when and by what means will fate help us. Or when it will release us from the clutches of previous actions. When will our present and future good deeds match up to the past sins? All these are part of the divine secret. - Mankutimma
